4 things to help you become a SCALABLE service provider - Chanti Zak - Copywriter & Funnel Strategist

Estimated read time: 4 mins

If the months of the year were the hours in a day then August would be 3pm — the perfect time for a siesta in the sun.

Is it just me or does it feel like we’re all just lookin’ for a little shade this month before the bustle of September begins?

Full disclosure (because that’s what STT is all about)

This has been the slowest month in my business all year.

It’s the first month where I’ve spent more than I made (something I vowed to stop doing to the best of my ability but feck, sometimes you gotta spend it to make it).

A client project (worth 5-figures) got canceled last minute.

My evergreen funnel testing hypothesis is not going as planned.

I realized amidst 5 active client projects that my launch plans and desire to do ALL THE THINGS are simply not feasible as is. I often forget that I am just one person.

And you know what, %FIRSTNAME%? IT DO BE LIKE THAT SOMETIMES.

The whole premise with this newsletter is that there’s value in simply keeping it real. Is that “legs” enough for a publication to stand on?

🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ ⇐ my top used emoji this month.

It’s months like these where I’m grateful to have built a scalable service-based business — a hybrid revenue model based one part on high-ticket services and one part on digital products/courses.

Why I love this model:

  • I still get to work with clients hands on which I love (+ which I think is necessary if I’m going to be an effective teacher and coach in this space!)
  • It’s scalable. I don’t trade my time for money.
  • I can have a slow month (or several) on the client side and the digital products side can pick up the slack — and vice versa.
  • One BIG month on the digital product side is a total game-changer can be equal to the profit from 6 BIG client months

The tea: how to become a Scalable Service Provider

I wish I did these things sooner because they made ALL the difference…

  1. Build and write ( ⇐ keyword here) my email list

I know, you know. But truly, without the humans that say yes to getting my emails the whole “digital products and courses” side of the scalable service provider model is dead.

I know there are lots of people out there successfully selling their stuff on social media but I have not fully cracked that nut yet, %FIRSTNAME%.

Email has been my ride or die. It goes without saying that it’s not enough to have an email list. You need to write your email list. Consistently. Something I put off doing for YEARS.

(Psst… if you haven’t emailed your list in a while I dare you to do so this week with zero announcement as to where you’ve been or why you ghosted. I promise you they won’t care.)

  1. Monetize my mind

By this I mean, having a process and being able to communicate it. Frameworks and a proven path to results is worth a lot more than any $$$ you could place on your time.

Create the space to analyze how you do a thing you’re really good at.

  1. Sell my sawdust

Take those processes and frameworks I developed for how I get results and package them up in a million and one different ways based on what my people have told me they want and need!

Templates, an Easy Yes offer, a signature course, workshop, membership, the list goes on…

  1. Equip others

Train other highly-equipped and talented professionals on my processes and frameworks so my capacity on BOTH client and the digital product side of the business is exponentially higher.

All of this takes tiiiiiiiiiime. But it’s been worth it IMO.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, creating a signature course was the best thing I did to move from struggling-to-keep-up-service-provider to a scalable one.

Find out if you already have heaps of digital course potential and then reply to this email to tell me which outcome you got!
