Well heyloooo you superstar, you.

Happy October. Happy Q4. Happy day of rest (or if you have children, happy reminder that sleeping in is a thing of the past 👋 ).

I took last week off to purge and pack but mostly ended up playing with Juno and pretending to be Martha Stewart.

For the record, there’s nothing wrong with vacuuming at 8 am (Colin is wrong and vacuuming can be self-care) and when the apples come a falling the sauce comes a calling!

Clearly I was *made* for homesteading life. We’re officially less than 1 month away from our move in date and I can’t wait to give you the grand tour.

Time away from laptop life is always rich with realizations. When you’re IN it, it’s hard to zoom out and see the big picture of what you’re creating (the irony is you’re on zoom all effing day, what the hay!)

Building a business can feel so complicated and overwhelming when we’re navigating the day to day but stepping back I’m always reminded that I am CHOOSING for it to be that way.

We all have a choice: simple or complicated.

Of course our egos lurrrrve complicated.

But it *can* be simple. Just like life. My mom always told me to choose my battles and until recently I never thought to apply that idea to business.

Choose what matters to YOU.

Because you started this for a reason and it wasn’t to be a tyrant boss to yourself.

I’m growing my team (which I feel extremely under qualified to do) and entering a new phase of life and business where new questions are popping up like:

How do I show up as, not a “boss” but an inspiring co-creator and leader? How do I choose what to let go of?

Who am I if I’m not hustlin’ and acting from overwhelm all the time?

What if helping more people, leading a team, raising a family, and growing copious amounts of food could be easy, or at least graceful?

What questions are you asking right now? I have a feeling if the question exists, the answer does too.

🎵 ONE MARKETING MELODY TO PRESS PLAY ON

As the wise Laura Belgray often says, you can get paid to be you.

The first step is in knowing who you are and what parts of yourself you want to share with the world through your brand.

If you’re not totally sure how to do that and still discovering your brand voice or figuring out how to write with personality — I’ve got a brand spankin’ new blog post just for you…

How Paris Hilton Can Help You Hone in on Your Brand’s Voice and Write with Personality

In it, you’ll learn:

  • What voice actually is and why juicing yours up with more personality has the power to attract your ideal customers and clients.
  • How to mix your audience’s language into your writing and create a brand personality that they really resonate with.
  • Wisdom to help you balance your audience’s interests with your own need for authenticity and alignment.

:musical_note: QUOTE OF THE WEEK

“When you experience someone else’s genius work, a little part of you feels, ‘That’s what I could have, would have, and should have done!’

Someone else did it. You didn’t. They fought the resistance. You gave in to distractions. They made it top priority. You said you’d get to it some day. They took the time. You meant to.

When this happens, you can take it two ways: You could let that part of you give up. ‘Oh well. Now I don’t need to make that anymore.’ Or you could do something about that jealous pain. Shut off your phone, kill the distractions, make it top priority, and spend the time.

It takes many hours to make what you want to make. The hours don’t suddenly appear. You have to steal them from comfort.
– Derek Sivers

:musical_note: WHAT I’M READING

I’m such a scatterbrain. I made myself a “distraction triggers” list this week to track what emotion is coming up when I go to check my email for the 200th time or worst, Facebook (even with my newsfeed disabled I still check it way too often).

Always looking for distracting resources to help me curb my addiction to distractions and so far this article on The Attention Diet by Mark Manson is doing the trick.

:musical_note: WHAT I’M LISTENING TO

My girl Dawn’s Fall 2020 playlist, especially Autumn’s Here by Hawksley Workman, swoon.

May your day be filled with crunching leaves in the park and pumpkin curry (way better than pumpkin lattes, promise) and for my Southern hemi pals, what the heck do you guys do in October?!

Love you to the moon,
Chanti xx
