These are the words my midwife uttered while I labored for 3 days (!!) with my first born.
If you’re not familiar with Ayurveda, you might be scratching your head right now.
Kapha is 1 of 3 doshas that determine the nature in which you do things.
A dosha is a description of your constitution, inspired by the elements of earth, air, fire, and water.
We all have a blend of the doshas and our season of life can greatly influence which one is dominant.
While I can summon Pitta (fire) energy when I need it, my dominant dosha is Kapha.
Kapha people are calm, grounded, and most notably…
SLOW & STEADY.
So of course my midwife wasn’t surprised that it took me 3 days to bring my first baby into the world.
& I’m not surprised that owning my Kapha-ness and engineering my last launch for Easy Yes around my nature in this way worked so damn well.

🍵💲The #1 indicator that you’re doing a great job — it’s probably NOT what you think
Summer isn’t the easiest time to sell. Factor in that the US feels like it’s perpetually on political fire and a million other factors and we all have many many well-worn excuses to hold back and wait for the ~*perfect timing*~
But frankly, it’s been like this for 4 years. The chaos isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
I’ve given up trying to plan as if things will “normalize” ⇐ whatever that means.
I created Easy Yes because I believe it’s what people in my world need most right now based on my most recent audience survey.
I didn’t know how it would go but here’s what I did know:
That I did NOT want to run with a typical stressful launch strategy.
I love Simone Seol and have watched multiple of her launches. For her recent one, Copywriting with the Sword, I tallied up how many posts she made, how many emails she sent, and how long her cart open window was for a total of…
Simone is prolific and clearly doesn’t let perfectionism paralyze her. This inspired me to attempt something similar despite my being a far less consistent content creator.
My cart window open for Easy Yes was around a month and in that time I wrote 25 emails (including Spill the Tea) and 15 social posts.
This was a huge challenge for me and I’m so proud of myself that I followed through on my plan.
Many times I felt like just…not posting. Not emailing. Hoping for the best instead of DOING my best.
I kept enrollment open until the very last minute — and to my surprise, had multiple people sign up the day of the workshop.
This slow and steady launch style really served, and most importantly, it felt really low stress and aligned with my personality.

✨ I offered an upsell to get my 1:1 support on your Easy Yes offer and sold 9/10 spots for nearly the same price as the offer itself (this play was inspired by my friend Ry Schwartz)
✨ Around 70% of people who joined have already purchased something from me in the past.
This is SUCH a big deal. Clients and students who want to keep coming back for more is my #1 indicator that I’m doing a great job.
✨ My no-pressure mindset around the whole launch.
I didn’t create this once to only sell it once. It was a gap I identified in my offer suite that I know needed to be filled and THAT was the primary motivation.
I know by now that the first time you launch something isn’t the last time you launch something and it will only get better with time.
💁♀️ My achilles heel is not list building BEFORE a launch.
I simply didn’t have the bandwidth to do a big push to the free quiz that I created to align with the offer but had I put more effort in here, I know it would’ve made a huge difference.
💁♀️ Launching a new offer is generally harder because you don’t yet have social proof and testimonials for it.
This is par for the course. I don’t let it stop me, but if I’d run a beta version first and gathered feedback, I think more people new to my work would’ve said yes.
💁♀️ My bonus strategy could’ve been stronger.
I shared what all the bonuses were on the front end and if I’d held back and trickled them out throughout the launch it would’ve helped combat the ol’ mid-cart sales slump.
I could’ve also done more with the waitlist of brilliant business owners who shared they were interested. Personal outreach, a bonus just for them, and more waitlist specific emails would’ve probably gone a long way.
In the end, my philosophy is that you learn by launching and there’s always next time.
I’d love to hear YOUR thoughts on what you liked/didn’t like from this last launch if you were following it.
