Do you ever encounter advice that you know is *logically* correct but that just sort of… irks you?
“Work smarter, not harder.“
Sure, efficiency is sexy, and no one wants to hustle unnecessarily. But sometimes, you have to work both smarter and harder.
“Just be yourself.“
Cute. But being your true self takes knowing your true self, which takes time and courage and then there’s the whole problem of being in constant evolution. SIGH.
“Comparison is the thief of joy.“
Constantly measuring yourself against someone else’s highlight reel is a recipe for pain. But comparison isn’t always bad. Sometimes it motivates. Sometimes it helps you see the gaps and level up. Thief of joy? Not always. Sometimes, just a thief of your chill.
“Fake it ’til you make it.“
Look, pretending you’ve got it together can work. But let’s not romanticize imposter syndrome with a shiny tagline. Faking it is fine until it starts feeling like lying to yourself — and that’s when the wheels fall off.
Lately I’ve been feeling into THIS gem:
“Just do more of what works.”
This one is straight outta the business coaching bible.
Find what works, and double down.
And it’s always annoyed me.
Why? Because for the longest time, I didn’t actually know what was working.
My brain would latch onto feelings “Oh, this launch felt easy” or “People seem to love this offer.” Feelings are useful, but they’re also notoriously unreliable.
So, I decided to fact-check myself. Over the course of a year, I tracked everything:
When I sat down to analyze all that data, it blew my mind. Things I thought were working? Not so.
While things I barely noticed were quietly raking in revenue and felt fun and easy. For the first time, that “just do more of what works” advice didn’t feel like a cop-out. It felt like a strategy.
🍵💲The surprising (+ almost too easy) thing I did in 2024 that made me over $1k for every hour I spent on it.
🍵💲A peek inside my museum of failures
🍵💲The ONE thing that’s worked for me (and led to multiple 7-figures since I started doing it)
✔️ Creating and launching my own products — this has FINALLY become more profitable for me than high-ticket 1:1 client work (a feat that took years because my client projects bank anywhere between 10-90k a pop)
✔️ Being an affiliate for programs and tools that I love and trust. Specifically Amy Porterfield’s Digital Course Academy. I’ve been a partner multiple times so lots of the work to launch this was already done.
For every hour I spent creating new material, I made over $1k, easily making this the most profitable thing I did on paper.
✔️ My Easy Yes program was SO much fun to create and as meta as it is, I was inspired to do it because the ads to my own Easy Yes offer were working so dang well.
❌ Most of my attempts at better time management. My 3-day work week experiment is still going but I find it’s not *quite* enough for me to do everything I need to without getting overwhelmed.
❌ Most of my attempts at outsourcing/team building. I always underestimate how much time and energy it takes to properly bring someone in, and even then it doesn’t always work out. Still runnin’ lean over here.
❌ Splitting my energy 50/50 between client work and launching my own stuff. I’ve been doing this for years and the context switch is a big challenge.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ QUIZZES ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
17,430 people have taken my meta quiz!
Which over 7 years, isn’t actually that many. For the most part I work with clients whose businesses are a lot bigger than mine.
Which is why I like using my own business as an example here.
These numbers are not out of reach for the average business owner.
Now before I get too ahead of myself, I want to fill you in on my business model.
I’d hate for you to think it’s as simple as *make quiz = make money* – it’s NOT.
⇒ First of all, you need something stellar to sell! Something you know people want.
I mainly sell my own programs and templates ranging from $17-$2k and done-for-you custom quiz funnel or launch packages at $10k+.
Almost everyone who becomes a client, starts by taking my quiz.
Same goes for those who join my programs or purchase pretty much anything from me.
So let’s say you go forth and create a quiz that attracts thousands of people who are just the perfect fit for what you provide…
You start making more moolah by proxy. That “where is everyone?!” problem fades far into the distance. You’ve got more insights on who’s on your email list than you know what to do with.
And THAT is something you can double down on.
So in the spirit of doing more of what works…
I’m currently creating a brand spankin’ new quiz for you! COMING SOON!
& I’ve just opened up the waitlist for Grow with Quizzes 2.0
^^This program goes far beyond creating a simple quiz and teaches you how to build a mostly automated sales and relationship building SYSTEM that works when you can’t.
Get on the waitlist and you’ll be the first to hear about it!
🧋January is like one long Monday but it’s almost over so YAY!
